little guy, not so little anymore

My little man is no longer a baby, he turned 1. Can't believe a year has already gone by? We started the day by waking him up and dragging him along with us so he could cheer us on as we played on a church softball team. Then we got things ready for the party and I kept trying to put him down for a nap before his party at 3, but he would have none of that! We had friends and family meet us at a park to celebrate his birthday -and it was so gorgeous and warm, perfect weather to go to a park. Here's Tripp with the funny little cake I made him:
He's trying to pull an Andrea here, and burn himself on the candle, but Randy was too quick for that.
He was getting super anxious during the song to touch the cake.
We finally let him at it and this is how he ate his cake. Such a wierdo! I'm putting a video of him eating at the bottom of this post. Is anyone flexible enough to eat like this?
Now he started to get messy, but check out his clothes -not a piece of cake or frosting to be seen!
Here's little Aidan trying to help him eat his cake. Tripp had a few friends at the park to play with.
All the presents he got to open. At the moment he is more interested in opening the card that is attached to the present rather than getting to the toy inside.
And he started to play with his toys before he opened the rest. Thanks Nichole!
More presents
This is what happened literally 30 seconds after I put him in the car after the party. Look how dirty he is! Totally zonked after playing hard all day with no nap.
This was after his nap and bath, playing with a wagon Bri and Jenny got him. He totally loves it!
He looks so concerned in this pic.
And here's the video of my silly little man. It's been a crazy, wild, sometimes-hard, fun year with this little guy in my house but totally worth every moment. We love you Tripp and hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Happy Birthday Tripp Master. Sad we missed the party. And what a clean and tidy little boy. No frosting or anything on his shirt. We just can 2 minutes without destroying our clothes in this house.

I can't believe our babies are 1! Tripp looks so big and grown up. I can't believe he didn't get dirty, we're lucky we stripped Allie down because she made a mess. I love the video of him eating the cake.

What he didn't want to get his hands dirty or what? Looks like a good first birthday, and he totally looks just like you in the picture when he's in the wagon and smiling. there's a picture in my scrapbook of you that looks just like that.

Happy Birthday to Tripp! He is so cute! I can't believe he didn't get any cake on his clothes. Did you teach him how to do that? It looks like you had a fun party.
