Fun with cousins

We are having lots of fun on our long vacation in Idaho. I thought I would post some pics of these cute kiddos.

Ethan and Deklan. Ethan is 8 months old and Deklan is going to be one next week!

Iron Man and Batman, um I mean, Tripp and Asher
Grandpa giving all the kids a ride on the 4-wheeler. Got to love the box he made for the back to cart the babies around in.

My Grandpa threw an old freezer burned ice cream cake in the grass and the kids decided to eat it. It had very colorful frosting on it, if you couldn't tell by their messy hands. Asher, Zelda, Brielle, and Tripp.

Tripp and Sawyer. This is kid is so much fun! Tripp kept begging me to go to Sawyer's house.

This is my mom's dog Boo. Tripp and him didn't get along very well. Tripp would randomly smack the dog and then later he would want to pet him and couldn't figure out why the dog would nip at him.

Deklan's favorite walking toy

Brelly and Tripp being silly. These two were good friends the entire time.

Deklan loved this stuffed bear!

This made me laugh. Looks like he has some large lady parts.

The rotten boys really wanted to swim in Linnea's pool. She threw a barbeque party just for us!

I loved Brelly's sweet hula hooping skills!

Deko was in love with this dog. It made me nervous, but this is like the best dog in the world and just sat there and took all of Deko's torture.

We have had a lot of fun with family, and can't wait to go home to Daddy tomorrow!

Reunion

The boys and I went to my mom's family reunion this weekend. We camped at Palisades. I haven't gone camping since before I was pregnant with Tripp. And I forgot how disgustingly dirty you get while out there. Combine the dirt with the 50 layers of bug spray we had on our bodies and we were all pretty nasty and smelly. Good thing we were only out there for 2 nights! Tripp and Deklan enjoyed playing with their cousins and getting down and dirty. I gave Deklan several "wipe baths" and he was still filthy. We had fun playing games, singing karaoke, eating lots of good dutch oven food, having water fight wars, and telling embarassing stories around the campfire.

See the filthiness!

Kristi and Deko

Part of the gang. Now that I think about it, we should have taken a big group photo, oh well.

My team won the scavenger hunt. Here is a pic of our haul:

We also saw a Sasquatch (and no, it wasn't Sarah)! We woke up one morning to find a warning posted on a candle in our camp. On one side there was handwriting saying that sasquatch had mind control powers and said they had to leave several of these warnings to campers. On the other side of the paper was a long excerpt from a book Theodore Roosevelt wrote about a story a man told him about a scary encounter with a Sasquatch! My uncle Scott read it to us and it was super spooky. Then that night as we were telling stories around the campfire we heard an ear-piercing howl. I put my flashlight beam where we heard the noise and all we saw was a tall, hairy figure running away from our camp! Totally spooky! Sasquatch came by the next day and was pretty friendly. He even let us take some pics of him.

Scott reading to us on the karaoke machine. Zelda and Brielle decided to gather close to him for storytime.
Some of the boys did some skeet shooting before we left. My mom thought Tera and her pregger belly looked funny holding a rifle.

We had a lot of fun and can't wait till the next reunion!

That was totally wicked!!

I told Randy, for his birthday, I was going to buy him tickets to a Backstreet Boys concert. He looked at me and said, "I'd rather go bungee jumping." So we went! On Saturday, we drove to Amboy and jumped off a bridge. It was a gorgeous day! A guy proposed to his girlfriend right before Randy jumped. He got down on his knee and said, "I'd jump off a bridge for you...." Good thing she said yes. He must have been super nervous after the proposal cuz he did not jump the correct way! We had to go through a 10 minute "jump school" before we jumped. And they told us to jump out and dive. This guy jumped feet first and the cord whipped him in the face and cut his eyelid. Poor guy. I messed up in filming Randy's first jump cuz I was taking a picture of him and didn't realize how fast the countdown was going to be. But I got the second jump where they had us jump backwards. And Randy filmed my first jump but messed up on filming my second jump. Aren't we the perfect match? This is Randy before the jump.

I was glad the countdown was so fast once I got onto the tiny platform. If I had to wait one more second, I probably wouldn't have jumped. Mid jump -I started wondering what I was doing, but it was too late at that point. What a rush! I'm pretty sure my eyes were closed 90% of the time, but it was awesome. I think it was easier to jump off the ledge backwards, since I couldn't see what I was doing, but scarier cuz I couldn't see where I was going.

We Survived! Did I mention this is the highest bungee jumping spot in the USA? 200 feet off the ground. They told us we would go about 68 mph downward and about 70 mph up, pretty crazy, eh?

Somewhere in my jumps, I got a rope burn on my forearm. I didn't notice it until we left the bridge. And then it started stinging like crazy. My jaw also felt really sore -most likely from me clenching it the entire time.

Because Randy and I jumped twice, we are now members of the Dangerous Sports club and received a T-shirt and we get discounts on all of our future jumps. Next year, skydiving....
