Ocean Shores

We were able to stay in a condo right by the ocean for a week. I loved waking up and looking out the window and seeing the ocean in the morning. It was awesome! Randy loved driving on the beach (I think it's crazy that they let you do that). I was afraid we would get stuck. We saw a bus full of senior citizens who got stuck in the sand and had to be towed out. This was Tripp's favorite place: Sharky's. Everytime we drove by it (and we drove by it a lot) he asked if we could go in again. It was only a gift shop, not that exciting. But the shark is pretty sweet. The boys and I had fun playing in the sand on the beach. I brought kites, sand toys, a bucket, and this crazy foam airplane that didn't last very long.Willy came and played with us the first day we were there. We were told to expect cold weather. But we had a few warm sunny days to play in.
I love this pic. Like Father like son. Too bad I didn't have Tripp flying a kite in this pic as well.

Deklan's favorite thing to do: Eat the sand.We found a dead crab on the beach.

And this is as close as Tripp got to it.

We enjoyed running from the water. Once I wasn't fast enough and got my leg all wet.

I like this pic too. Seems like it could have some inspirational quote under it or something. I'm not feeling very inspiring at the moment so I won't write anything.

This was the view off the deck of the condo.

There was a family fun center we went to that was pretty entertaining.

We found out that Tripp is a superb putter

And that I putted better with Deko on my back. I gave him to Randy half way through the course.

The next Tiger, I just know it! (If he could only hold the putter the right way)

We were able to play at a Community Center for free because of where we were staying. We swam in the pool, played air hockey, and a game I loved. Not sure what it's called, maybe shuffleboard?

Any of you know what this is? It made me think of Survivor cuz they've played a game like this on that show a few times.

We went to a free museum too. The boys loved it!

Captain Trippy, Arg! I love Deko's face! He's so excited.

This was Deklan's favorite. When you opened the doors, the frog croaked at you. He was dancing to the frog's ribbit noises.

Tripp loved the sharks

We went and checked out the Jetty. We found a barely alive crab there. For some reason Tripp wasn't afraid of this one but he was scared of the dead one.

The water came in and soaked my foot before Randy took this pic. That's why my leg looks so funny.

Found a nice man to take a pic of us.

Sweet name don't you think, Kare? My favorite part was being able to run on the beach. It was amazing! I've never ran on a beach before and I loved every minute of it, even the sand in my shoes. I also loved watching the sun set on the ocean. Tripp loved seeing all the deer everywhere. He kept asking us, "Where's Bambi?" Randy said mini golf was his favorite, even though Willy beat him by one point. And we all know Deko's favorite part was trying to destroy the condo and eating as much sand as he could get his hands on. This was a fun, relaxing, free vacation. I need more vacations like this one!

Deko son turns one!

I can't believe my baby is already one! That was a fast year. Randy fell in love with these cupcakes at a graduation party we attended, so he found out who made them and asked her to make some for Deklan's birthday. These are peaches 'n cream cupcakes and they were delicious!

The smallest guy got the biggest cupcake. Here's some of our partiers:

He was totally mesmerized by the flame Looks yummy
Best way to eat it: frosting first

This face portrays complete satisfaction

Opening presents

This little man is king of messes. He did this:

And right after I cleaned it up, not even 5 seconds later, and he does this:

Can't resist that happy, destructive baby smile! I love my little Deko monster. He is full of energy and never runs out of smiles. He is a joy to have in our home. Happy birthday Stinker! Can't wait to celebrate more birthdays with this smiley guy!

More Idaho Adventures

We did several fun things while we were in Idaho. Here are a few of them:

I took the boys to a water park. (Please ignore the people in the background)

This was a fun kid's toy. The water was only 1 foot deep. So the kids loved it. But I think Tripp's favorite was the Lazy River. He wanted to stay in it all day.
And Deklan loved crawling all over the place.
I went to a ward party -the ward I grew up in. It was a lot of fun. I got to see several familiar faces and new ones too. This was by far the kids' favorite. I called it the Candy cannon. They shot candy, t-shirts, and tennis balls at the kids waiting on the other end of the field. It's hard to see but this is the candy flying in the air.
This pic is blurry, but the guy kneeling on the grass is holding the "cannon"
There was also wagon rides. Zayna made the comment, "I bet you never thought you'd see little Randy and Steve together again." These little guys are both clones of their dads. Steve and Randy are a week apart, and these goobers are a month apart in age.

Blindfolded lawn mower races. Doesn't get much better than that!

Zelda didn't want to get off the horse.

This is Deklan's first time on a horse. I was too afraid to let him actually ride it though. Can you blame me?

I remember playing on this slide when I was little. It's nice to know that some things never change.

We also went to the zoo with friends. This is Allie. She is 1 day older than Tripp and after 3 years we finally got them together for a picture.

Tripp and Taz

Deklan was going crazy for the penguins. He wanted me to put him down so he could get them.

It's been too long since I've seen these ladies last. These are my friends Anne and Whitney. It's hard to believe Anne had a baby 6 weeks ago. She looks amazing! It was fun catching up with them and I can't wait for our next adventure together.

When we got back from the zoo, my mom threw me a birthday party.

And I had to put the flower in my hair. Not sure what kind of face Tripp is making in this photo.

And all the kids ate the flower.

Not sure exactly how good it was, but they devoured it.

Zayna and Mom

Darcy

And messy Deko. This guy ate 3 pieces of cake. What a tank! Now if I could only figure out where all that food goes, cuz he doesn't weigh anything.

Lots of fun and lots of food. We loved our vacation and are way excited to be home with daddy again!
