The boys and I went to my mom's family reunion this weekend. We camped at Palisades. I haven't gone camping since before I was pregnant with Tripp. And I forgot how disgustingly dirty you get while out there. Combine the dirt with the 50 layers of bug spray we had on our bodies and we were all pretty nasty and smelly. Good thing we were only out there for 2 nights! Tripp and Deklan enjoyed playing with their cousins and getting down and dirty. I gave Deklan several "wipe baths" and he was still filthy. We had fun playing games, singing karaoke, eating lots of good dutch oven food, having water fight wars, and telling embarassing stories around the campfire.

See the filthiness!

Part of the gang. Now that I think about it, we should have taken a big group photo, oh well.

My team won the scavenger hunt. Here is a pic of our haul:

We also saw a Sasquatch (and no, it wasn't Sarah)! We woke up one morning to find a warning posted on a candle in our camp. On one side there was handwriting saying that sasquatch had mind control powers and said they had to leave several of these warnings to campers. On the other side of the paper was a long excerpt from a book Theodore Roosevelt wrote about a story a man told him about a scary encounter with a Sasquatch! My uncle Scott read it to us and it was super spooky. Then that night as we were telling stories around the campfire we heard an ear-piercing howl. I put my flashlight beam where we heard the noise and all we saw was a tall, hairy figure running away from our camp! Totally spooky! Sasquatch came by the next day and was pretty friendly. He even let us take some pics of him.

Scott reading to us on the karaoke machine. Zelda and Brielle decided to gather close to him for storytime.

Some of the boys did some skeet shooting before we left. My mom thought Tera and her pregger belly looked funny holding a rifle.

We had a lot of fun and can't wait till the next reunion!
